Mini carrot cakes with our favorite ginger caramel sauce

This "carrot cake" was the first thing made in our new dehydrator! It was pretty good for the first try. Ground walnuts, dates, bananas, cinnamon, nutmeg and of course carrot went into this batter. :)

Apple and pear tart, with ginger caramel sauce

A: I made this tart about a month ago. What did you think about it?

J: It was really good. It left me wanting more.

A: [typing] "ummm.."

J:"umm.." you're going to put that?

A&J: dsfgurtghrjhgduifh @&!#%^?!?.....shfguhrge.....

This started out as an interview about the tart, which turned into an argument about the most annoying things people do. its a tie between typing "ummm..." and people judging other people.

...umm...

I didn't use a recipe. It was just a what do we have that's going bad (except for the nuts & seeds. those were fine) kinda dessert. :)

makeover

Hello friends!

As you may have noticed we are now "this raw vegan life"! I/we have recently started the journey into the living foods lifestyle, and I am LOVING it. I haven't been this excited about anything since i went vegetarian 5 years ago.

As a 15 year old, the idea of food anarchy and voting with my little dollar every time I made a purchase was marvelous. The realization that I could be a part of something more, and I could make a difference has changed my life in many ways. I felt more confident and I was proud of who I was, and the knowledge that I carried with me. I knew the grusome truth about how animals, and their by-products came to be dinner, make up, bags, belts and thousands of other products we purchase without thinking twice. It was as if I was let in on some big secret. Suddenly I realised that I could stand up and say no. I didn't have to follow the SAD diet, and I could be the voice for all of the souls, both animal and human, who were suffering because of our own ignorance, and greed.

Now, five years later as i start down a new path I have stronger beliefs, and even more faith that it is possible to change the world. We can cure disease. We have complete power. It's all about how we vote with each purchase that we make. It's all about what we put into our mouths, and how we choose to nourish our bodies, minds and spirits.

For it to be possible that the information on our website can reach thousands of people is truly amazing. So I hope that you find the new things we will be adding to our site helpful, informative and inspiring to you weather you're a new, old or dabbling raw vegan :)

knowledge truly is power. especially when your up against the biggest player in the game--the food industry.

P.s.  Check out our "videos" section to view whole movies about:

-Corn, and how its in EVERYTHING, even your hair! :) (King Corn)

-The food industry, and all of its friends! ( Food Inc.)

- I saw this movie once and I don't think I could ever watch it again. Its quite upsetting, but a good one for those who think nothing of their inhumane choices, and their consequences. (Earthlings)

Another note! Our forum will be up and running again very soon and when it is feel free to post, post, post! We're looking forward to get some discussions about the films listed above going and whatever else ya'll wana talk about! :)

thanks for stopping by!

Not So International Aid

I have added this page that I stumbled upon because it was so incredibly unbelievable. The table below shows the contributions made by the 189 UN countries. Please note that contributions are NOT currently made by Canada, Australia, Japan, Switzerland, New Zealand, and the U.S.A. Doesn't it seem strange that such large and established countries can not seem to spare such small amounts of money form their currently well lined pockets? Please also note the INCREDIBLY small contributions that Japan, and the U.S.A are willing to make. I think that it is time for us to do something about this long lasting problem and petition our respective governments to make a commitment to this longstanding problem.

If you would like to petition your country to finally join this worthy cause,

(seeing as they already agreed to it and are just taking 9-10 years to act on it)

Please follow this link to print a letter to petition your respective country.

Details

In September 2000, the 189 countries of the United Nations unanimously agreed to “spare no effort to free our fellow men, women and children from the abject and dehumanizing conditions of extreme poverty,” specifically hunger and the “major diseases that afflict humanity.”

To accomplish this great objective would be expensive, and the price was later estimated at about $195 billion a year. It would be very difficult for this amount of money to be raised by private charities or individuals. It would require the combined efforts of governments throughout the world to do it.
